Supporting exceptional learners of all ages with the personalized education they deserve in Greater Moncton

Hi, I’m Fara Oporto, founder of OPORTunityKids, located in Riverview, NB.

As a caregiver or parent, when we watch a child struggle or lose skills, it causes us such heartache. We often feel alone, let down, lost and overwhelmed.

Having a psychoeducational assessment can give you some clarity, but too often we hear of those who have the diagnosis and are left in the dark about what to do next. You don’t know where to turn.

It takes a village, and I’m here to be a part of your village— offering consistent, compassionate support for you and your child’s growth.

My extensive experience supporting children and youth with disabilities in education and therapy roles has led me to pursue my passion to create a space and service that alleviates the stress for families.

I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach. Together, we identify barriers, create practical strategies, and help your child move forward with clarity and confidence.

This personalized, one-on-one support is designed to bridge gaps. My goal is not to replace existing supports, but to complement them by offering families additional individualized services when needed.

Every child and family deserve to be seen as an individual and supported in ways that work for them. Together, we can help your child gain confidence, strengthen their learning, develop skills. Whether it be fine motor, social, reading or numeracy. I want to work with you to help find solutions or gain tools to help them succeed at home, in the community and in school.

Services

Individualized support for your child to thrive.

Personalized 1-on-1 Sessions for Success

Non-clinical & non-diagnostic designed to gain and strengthen skills, confidence, and regulation through alternative learning and support.

Outside Classroom Support

Math and literacy don’t have to be a struggle. Through individualized, engaging instruction, I help children build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and reach their full potential. For students with dyslexia and reading difficulties, I incorporate evidence-based, multisensory techniques informed by the Orton-Gillingham approach to support lasting literacy success.Every behaviour is a form of communication. By understanding the “why” behind a behaviour, we can identify what your child is trying to communicate and develop positive, supportive strategies that meet their individual needs.

Using a strengths-based, individualized approach, I help children build self-regulation, emotional awareness, coping skills, and everyday life skills while supporting positive behaviour and greater independence. Every session is tailored to your child’s unique goals, strengths, and challenges.

Self-Regulation & Behaviour Support

Every behaviour is a form of communication.

Life Skills & Independent Living Coaching

I provide personalized life skills coaching for individuals with disabilities who need support developing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and independent living skills. These essential skills empower individuals to care for themselves, navigate everyday situations, and build greater confidence and independence.

Support is tailored to each person’s goals and may include budgeting, meal planning and cooking, household management, job readiness, executive functioning, organization, time management, and community participation.

My goal is to help your loved one develop the practical skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive—at home, in the community, and beyond.

Waitlist Support

Waiting for a diagnosis, psychoeducational assessment, or specialized services such as occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, or ABA can feel overwhelming. With long wait times in the Greater Moncton Area, many families are left wondering what to do next.

While I cannot diagnose your child or replace clinical services, I can provide practical, individualized support during the wait. Together, we’ll address your concerns, build your child’s skills and confidence, and explore strategies that can make everyday life a little easier.

You don’t have to wait to start making progress. My goal is to help your family feel heard, supported, and empowered—so when services become available, your child is already on a path toward growth and opportunity.

Social Skills Development

Social skills aren’t learned in isolation, they develop through understanding, practice, and positive experiences. I help children build confidence in social interactions by breaking down everyday situations into clear, manageable steps.

Using personalized social stories and individualized strategies, I help children understand social cues, navigate new or challenging situations, and build the skills they need to communicate, solve problems, and interact confidently with others.

Every social story is created specifically for your child, making learning meaningful, relatable, and easy to apply in everyday life.
